  • Heavy to very heavy rains are likely over isolated parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, South Interior Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.
  • Heavy showers are expected in isolated places over Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan, Goa, Gujarat state, Coastal, North Interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep.
  • Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are forecast over Uttarakhand, East Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Konkan, Goa, Gujarat, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe and Lakshadweep.
  • In the morning, dense fog is possible over Trans Himalayas and in the relatively high altitude area of the western Himalayas.

Friday (September 2)

  • Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely over isolated places Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya.
  • Heavy falls are expected in isolated places over Bihar, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Coastal and South Interior Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and Lakshadweep.
  • Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning are possible over Uttarakhand, East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe and Lakshadweep.
  • In the morning, dense fog is possible over Trans Himalayas and in the relatively high altitude area of the western Himalayas.

At present, the monsoon trough, which is at mean sea level, runs North of its normal position. A cyclonic circulation lies over south Tamil Nadu and its neighbourhood at lower tropospheric levels. Further, a trough runs from above this cyclonic circulation over south Tamilnadu to central Madhya Pradesh.

Fairly widespread to widespread light or moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls, thunderstorms and lightning are very likely over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya during the next five days.

Similar wet conditions are very likely over south Madhya Pradesh on September 1, Bihar on September 1 and 2 and over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim during the next five days.

Isolated scattered light to moderate rains are possible over the Western Himalayan Region during the next two days.

Fairly widespread to widespread light or moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls, thunderstorms and lightning are very likely over North Interior Karnataka on September 1, Coastal Karnataka and Lakshadweep on September 1 and 2 and over Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Mahe and South Interior Karnataka during the next five days. Isolated heavy to very heavy rains are also forecast over the region for the next few days.
