3-day rainfall accumulation from Monday to Thursday morning (TWC Met Team)

3-day rainfall accumulation from Monday to Thursday morning

(TWC Met Team)

A low-pressure system in the Nicobar Islands will travel west-northwest and develop into a cyclonic storm in the mouth of the Bay of Bengal by Wednesday evening. After that, strong winds will occur along the east coast of Tamil Nadu until Thursday due to the storm. However, this system will decline rapidly into a depression before landing and then making landfall around Puducherry on Friday afternoon.

Hence, heavy rain is expected around Puducherry from Thursday morning to Friday afternoon. And Northerly gale wind is likely along the east coast of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry on Thursday.

Meanwhile, a feeble western disturbance is likely to impact Kashmir later this week.

As for mercury levels, the maximum temperature will be higher than normal over much of the North East until the mid of December.

Hazardous air pollution will continue to impact the Northern plains and NCR for a while.
