Typhoon In-Fa brought heavy rain to Shanghai, China, on Monday after spending the weekend inundating Zhejiang province as well as Manila in the Philippines and Taiwan.
Photos show flooded roads on Sunday and Monday in Yuyao as well as in the nearby city of Ningbo.
The Associated Press reported that more than 1.5 million people were evacuated in Zhejiang, where the storm made its first landfall. In-Fa’s second landfall was along Shanghai’s southern edge.
Nearly 500,000 people in Shanghai were forced into shelters due to flooding and heavy winds.
At one point, more than 100,000 homes and businesses were without electricity as the storm struck.
No loss of life had been reported as of early Monday morning, but the impact to agriculture is expected to be huge.
