A suspected monkeypox case has been discovered in the state, according to Kerala’s health minister Veena George, and a sample has been submitted to the National Institute of Virology, Pune laboratory. The results are likely to come later in the day.
The suspect arrived from abroad and has been identified and kept under close surveillance as they were in close contact with a person who tested positive for monkeypox recently.
“No cause for any worry at all as things are all under control. We will now wait for the test result to come,” reassured George.
